Amir Khan

Amir Iqbal Khan was born on December 8, 1986 i British Pakistani family. Born and brought up in united kingdoms this man is the youngest british Olympic boxing medalist, winning silver medal at 2004 Athens Olympics at the young age of just 17 years. Winning WBA light welterweight, when he was 22, made him the first Punjabi descent and the second British Pakistani world champion. Amir Khan stated boxing when he was 11 years old and won many English school titles, ABA titles and gold at 2003 junior Olympics. In 2004 he won gold at European student championship, Lithuania . In same 2004 he won lightweight title after fighting five times in seven days. In 2005 he played his last amateur match against Mario kindelan and he was victorious. Amir Khan won many ABA championships in his amateur carrier. He had a fight againt Victor Ortiz, whom he defeated in 2nd round and as an amateur this was his best fight. His amateur carrier stood at 101-9-0 which a “amateur record’. He was a 2005 nominee for the laureus world sports award for Breakthrough of the year. Khan started his professional carrier in 2008 with his fight against Australian Gary St Clair and he won the fight after winning all the 12 rounds. On 5 April 2008,he had a fight against Kristjansen and he beat him in the seventh round of a WBO lightweight Title Eliminator. This victory gave his carrier new heights. Before the contest, the fighters had been ranked third and fourth respectively by the WBO. After Khan’s victory, he was ranked second, behind only Joel. In his boxing journey he faced many hardships too he got split from his trainer Oliver Harrison who was his trainer for his all 17 fights. After this on 21 June 2008, at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham he fought against Irishman Michael Gomez, a super featherweight champion, and lost the game. This was the “backward step” in his life. After this Amir Khan was trained by Rubio and Breidis prescott was chosen as his opponent by rubio. This was an important fight that was going to give khan the world title but he lost this as well. Following his defeat once again his trainer was changed and now Freddie Roach was appointed as his trainer. With his training he fought the next match aginst Oisin Fagan and knocked him down in a second-round. With this victory, Khan won the vacant WBA International lightweight title.Khan’s next fight was announced against Marco Antonio Barrera in 2009 who was ranked number 1 then and Amir Khan was at number 5 in world lightweight rankings. Khan with his all together new skills and better training defeated Barrera. With victory, Khan defended his WBA International lightweight title and also won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental lightweight title. On 18 July 2009, Khan moved up to the light welterweight division to fight Andreas Kotelnik at the MEN Arena in Manchester for the WBA light welterweight title. Amir Khan won the fight with the best scores and became the third-youngest Brit to win a world title, at the age of 22. This hero never looked back. On October 2009 he won by TKO in 1st round salita was knocked down by him, the first time after just 10 seconds into the fight. It was the first ever loss of Salita’s career. He had many fight after this and was able to defend his WBA title till 2011, when Lamount Peterson defeated him. His next fight for WBC title against Danny Garcia was too a defeat. After this defeat he left his coach roach and officially announced that his new trainer will be Virgil Hunter, the long-time trainer of Olympic gold medalist and undefeated reigning WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward. Soon after Khan joined with new trainer Virgil Hunter his comeback fight was announced against undefeated Mexican-American, Carlos Molina (17–0, 7 KOs). The fight took place on 15 December 2012, in California Amir Khan defeated Molina by TKO in the tenth round and won the WBC Silver Light Welterweight title. Then in 2013 he won the fight against Julio diaz. After a few downs in his carrier he managed to make through again.

From a small rural town in Punjab by the name of Mansa to the big screen , Aman Dhaliwal’s career took many ups and downs before he established himself as a versatile actor and proved his talent . Aman Dhaliwal was born to teacher parents on 24 July 1986. Like many Indian parents,his parents also wanted him to become a doctor or an engineer while he wanted to be an astronaut . Finally, after the confusion got cleared, he was offered the job and Dhaliwal accepted it . After doing this project he was offered many more and soon modeling became his profession . Some of his early modeling projects include “Jogiya ve Jogiya” , “Jaan Jaan” and “Jatt lutiya Gya” . Dhaliwal’s acting career started in 2007 with “Big Brother” starring Sunny Deol and Priyanka Chopra . Aman Dhaliwal’s big break came in the form of”Jodha Akhbar”, the following year . Having done not only Hindi films but Tamil , Punjabi and Pakistani films, Dhaliwal has proved his versatility over the years. His recent Punjabi films include , “Ajj de Ranjhe” (2012) and “Jatt Boys – Putt Jattan De” (2013) .

Over the years YouTube has become a platform whereby any individual can express his views , create original content or put up any kind of video that one wishes to .It has grown in popularity so much so that it is ranked at no.3 in the whole world . it has created opportunities and made many stars such as little Justin Bieber himself . Recently there has been a surge of Indian YouTube personalities who have risen to fame and have a huge fan base on the internet . One of these individuals who has done so goes by the name of AkakaAmazing on YouTube and is our very own Amandeep Kang . Amandeep Kang was born and raised in Toronto , Canada . On his YouTube channel , AkakaAmazing currently has over a 100,000 subscribers . But it all started when he was free at home during his school holidays . AkakaAmazing was working at Costco and found that he still had a significant part of the day where he was idle . So while just web surfing on YouTube he found artists like Humble the Poet . He found this to be pretty interesting and noticed this turbaned guy who was rapping hard and had many followers . Since there was already an Indian community presence on the net so he did a small video without expecting much out of it . Next morning there were over a thousand views on YouTube . He put up his second video and the response was even greater . Soon after putting out a bunch of videos AkakaAmazing was offered the partnership program by YouTube . He got certain incentives from YouTube and also met up with Humble the Poet . Soon he discovered other YouTube artist like iisuperwomanii and started creating good original content . AkakaAmazing got even more famous with his ‘Living In A Brown Fam’ series release . His recent stint includes ‘Living In A Brown Fam 3.75’ . He also has a clothing line of his own . AkakaAmazing says Punjabi families have a huge generation gap which needs to be filled . Also he agrees that young Punjabis abroad need to be taught and educated of where their roots actually lie . AkakaAmazing says he wants to tell people who we Punjabis are and what are we like . He also wants to go back to Punjab and help out the people there and educate them about making videos and creating globally apt content .
