Bharti Singh

Born on 3 July 1986 , in a Amritsari family , Bharti Singh is a well known comedian and actor who has participated in many competitions and plays . Bharti always nurtured the idea of becoming a stand up comedian since she was really good in mimicking people . She lost her father at a very early stage in life . Her family stood strong and supported her throughout . Not only was Bharti interested in comedy and mimicking but she also pursued the sport of pistol shooting as well as archery and won a national awards for both. Bharti started out her comedy career by doing various plays and stage shows . She has completed over an astounding 400 stage shows and has also won the National Level Youth festival for BBK DAV College for Women , Amritsar . Her comedy career reached a whole new level of fame when she participated in Season 4 of ‘ The Great Indian Laughter Challenge ‘(2008) on Star One and acclaimed the second runner-up spot . One of the characters that was admired by the audience was that of a little small town chubby girl by the name of ‘Lalli’ . After laughter challenge she also took part in the Series ‘Comedy Circus’ from 2008 to 2012 . Bharti then went on to participate in ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja 5′ . She withdrew from the show when she felt that she was being treated unfairly . in 2012 Bharti also appeared as a Police S.P for the show ‘F.I.R’ and as a guest in Salman Khan’s popular show ‘Bigg Boss 6′ on Colors T.v . Bharti Singh has won awards like , ‘New Talent Award’ in 2011 for tv series ‘Pyaar Mein Twist’ and two awards ,’Indian Television Academy Awards’ and ‘People’s Choice Awards India’ for ‘Kahani Comedy Circus Ki’ in 2012 .Her acting career includes super hit films like, ‘Ek Noor’ (2011 , Punjabi ) , ‘Yamle Jatt Yamle’ (2011 ,Punjabi ) , ‘Jatt and Juliet 2′ (2013,Punjabi) and a film with Akshay Kumar , ‘Khiladi 786′ (2012) .
