Garry Sandhu – Famous Punjabi

Gurmukh Singh Sandhu commonly known as Garry Sandhu was born on 4 April , 1984 . Garry Sandhu was brought up in the village of Rurka Kallan , Tehsil Phillaur, Jalandhar, Punjab . At a very young age Garry learnt the art of Kavishri from his guru , Gudeep Singh Sandhu . He started performing at local gurudwaras and nearby villages . Hence Garry stated his career from a spiritual platform and later on joined the Punjabi music industry . In 2002 , Garry Sandhu moved to Birmingham , UK and was encouraged by family members to pursue his singing career . Early on in UK , he performed in wedding functions and private shows . Later Garry Sandhu was noticed by some producers and released his track . He made his debut in the music industry with the single , ‘Main Nee Peenda’ in 2010. The track was immensely successful and was declared a super-hit . The same year itself , Garry Sandhu collaborated with ‘Punjabi Reggae King ‘ , Roach Killa and producer Surinder Rattan for his second track, ‘Dil De De’. The track topped many charts and Sandhu became one of the most famous UK Bhangra artists .Garry Sandhu returned for his third single under SPICE MEDIA label for Valentines 2011 with’Sahan To Pyariya’ in collaboration with DJ H . Again , this track was a massive hit as well . Come May 2011 , Garry Sandhu teamed up with DJ Dipps for his single ‘Tohar’ . Sandhu’s track was being touted as one of the biggest tracks for the summer. The song was an instant hit and went on to rack over 2 million views on YouTube . His glamours and peaking career stumbled and took a halt when the UK border agency arrested him in October,2011. Many sources said Sandhu to be in UK on illegal basis .Garry Sandhu was kept in custody at the Detention center , and later deported back to India . On his return to India , Sandhu was announced to have quit music . Major Varinder Kumar Sidhu , his childhood friend and his brother Harsh Sidhu convinced him to get his career back on track . Soon under Moviebox , in May 2012 , Garry Sandhu released ‘Brick’ with music given by GV . The track topped mainstream charts and hit No.67th position worldwide on its release weekend which hadn’t been hit by a Punjabi song for the last few years . Two months later in July , he released the track ‘Ik Gal’ featuring Sudesh Kumari also under Moviebox . And again with no surprises , the song was immensely successful . He released his debut album in December 2012 by the name of ‘Magic’ . Garry Sandhu promoted his album through his production company , ‘Fresh Media Records’ . His recent releases include ,’Ik Tera Sahara'(2013) under his own label ,’Fresh Media Records’. Music was given by Rupin Kahlon . Garry Sandhu also released , ‘Chunni de Sitare’ with DJ Sonu Dhillon under T-series . Also in 2013 , he teamed up with Roach Killa once again and released the track called ‘Heartbroken’. His future projects include ‘Malak Di Mehar Naal’ produced by Rupin Kahon and ‘Ik Gal 2’ with Dj Dips and Sudesh Kumari once again . Lyrics of ‘ik gal 2’ have been written by Garry Sandhu himself .
