BEGINNINGS :
Nawaz Sharif was born in Lahore. His family emigrated from Anantnag in Kashmir to a village in Amritsar called Jati Umra. After the creation of Pakistan ;the family went to Lahore. Nawaz did his schooling from Saint Anthony High School. He then went on to Government College University of Lahore and the University  and the Law College of Punjab, Lahore. He graduated with an art, business degree and a Law degree. Nawaz was a cricketer in his early years playing as an opening batsman. Nawaz joined the Pakistan Muslim League, a conservative front rooted in the Punjab province. In 1981,Nawaz joined the Punjab Advisory Council under Ghulam Jilani Khan. In 1985,Nawaz was nominated as Chief Minister of Punjab .He won the election and in 1985 Nawaz was the Chief Minister of Punjab. He is popularly known as the Lion of Punjab. Nawaz expanded the economic infrastructure to benefit the army, his own business interests and the people of Punjab.

Nawaz is known for the economic expansion of Punjab. Punjab became the richest state under his guidance. He legalized foreign money exchange to be transacted through private moneyu exchangers. He encouraged the growth of digital communication.On 12 October 1999, the army ousted Sharif’s government, exiling him to Saudi Arabia. Sharif returned in 2007, and his party contested elections in 2008, forming the provincial government in Punjab under Sharif’s brother Shahbaz until 2013. In the 2013 Pakistani general election, his party achieved the largest number of votes and he formed a coalition to become the 18th Prime Minister of Pakistan, returning to the position after fourteen years, in a democratic transition, for an unprecedented third time.
FAMILY LIFE :
Nawaz Sharif’s father. Muhammad Sharif, was a businessman. His mother, Shamim Akhtar was a homemaker. He has a brother Shahbaz Sharif and a nephew Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and a niece ,Khadija Shehbaz. He is married to Kulsoom Nawaz Sharif and has two sons, Hassan Nawaz Sharif and Hussain Nawaz Sharif. He has two daughters Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Asma Nawaz Sharif.
