BEGINNINGS :
Bhagwant was born in the village Satoj of Sunam, Sangrur, Punjab, India. He did his Bachelor of Commerce at Shaheed Udham Singh Government College ,Sunam. He was a notorious child who loved to mimic his teachers and friends and many other sounds like the tractor, cars etc. He loved listening to the radio. While in College, he participated in many stand up comedies and youth festivals events like mono-acting ,poetry where he won many prizes. In one of these festivals, he was spotted by the music producer Jarnail Ghuman of the record label DMC Records Ltd, which offered Mann to tape an audio cassette of his standups.

Bhagwant Mann is known for his satire standups and is a politician too. He debuted on 16th May 1992 with the comedy audio album ,”Gobhi Diye Kacchiye Vaparne” a satire in which he talked about inflation and corruption. Mann introduced to the Punjabi audience to “parody” where satire and ironic imitation is used. His audio “Kulfi Garma Garam Hai” became a hit. He ventured into television with the program “Jugnu Khenda Hai” with the comedian Jagtar Jaggi They partnered for 10 years. After that he partnered with Rana Ranbir and they made the television program Jugnu Mast Mast for Alpha ETC Punjabi. In 2008, he competed in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge on Star Plus .He also acted in the National award winning Film “Main Maa Punjab Dee” directed by Balwant Dullat.
In March 2014,Mann joined the Aam Aadmi Party to contest elections in the Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency. he won the election against former union minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and won by 211.721 votes. In May 2019,he was a re elected to 17th Lok Sabha from Sangrur constituency. On 18th January 2022, Mann was chosen as the Aam Aadmi Party candidate for Chief Minister of Punjab. He won the Dhuri Election Assembly on10th March and was selected as the leader of the Aam Admi Legislative Party. On 16th March 2022 he was sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab.
FAMILY LIFE:
Bhagwant Mann ‘s father, Mohinder Singh was a science teacher in a government school and his mother Harpal Kaur was a homemaker. He has a sister Manpreet Kaur who is a teacher in Budha Dal Public School Patiala. Bhagwant Mann married Inderpreet Kaur and has a son Dilshan Mann and a daughter Seerat Kaur Mann . He divorced Inderpreet Kaur in 2015. He then married Gurpreet Kaur in 2022 and they have a daughter born in 2024.
