Ranvir Singh commonly known as Rana Ranbir was born in the small town of Dhuri , Punjab . He pursued his education from ‘Desh Bhagat College’, Dhuri and received his graduation from there .During his time in college he published a book titled ‘Sach Soch te Supne’ Rana Ranbir is a post graduate in theatre and television . He has acted in many punjabi stage dramas . He has directed some of them such as ‘Aala Afsar’ and ‘ Mitti da Moh ‘. His popular stage shows are ‘Loha Kutt’ , ‘Annay Nishanchi ‘ and ‘Mirza Sahiba ‘ . Rana Ranbir’s other gigs include radio shows and television productions . ‘Kehar Singh Di Maut’ and ‘Bhagwant Mann, Naughty No.1′ are his successful radio shows . Other than doing comedy on television Ranbir has also done serious television with director Gurbir Singh Grewal in 1998 in ‘Parchhawain’ and then ‘Chitta Lahoo’.Rana Ranbir also anchored Zee Punjabi’s hit road shows ‘Excuse me Please’ and ‘Jugnu Mast Mast ‘ . Rana Ranbir is also the lyricist for the song ‘Boliyaan’ in ‘Rangeelay’ and dialogue writer for movie ‘Ajj de Ranjhe’. He has done many Punjabi films as well and is one of the main comedians in the industry . Rana ranbir has acted in films such as , ‘Mehndi Wale Hath’(2005) , ‘Rabb Ne Banyiyan Jodiyan’(2006) , ‘Mitti Wajaan Maardi’ (2007) , ‘Hashar’ (2008) and many more . Some of his more recent work includes ‘Ek Noor’ (2011) , ‘Jatt & Juliet’ (2012) , ‘Carry On Jatta’ (2012) , ‘Ajj De Ranjhe’ (2012) , ‘Lucky Di Unlucky Story’ (2013), ‘Jatt & Juliet 2′ (2013) , ‘Daddy Cool Munde Fool’ (2013) . Lastly Rana Ranbir’s future projects include Maut 1000 Km – Ek Sachi Prem Kahani (2014) and the much awaited Carry on Jatta 2 (July , 2014) .
